Thomas Janke
State Coordinator
Location: Gouldbusk, TX
Favorite Region: Trans-Pecos (desolate, wild, and beautiful -especially after rain!)
Off the Clock: Spending time outdoors with his family and working on their family property.
As State Coordinator, Thomas supports a statewide team of biologists and conservationists working on both private and public lands to make a large-scale impact for Texas wildlife. Having previously served as the statewide Rx Fire Coordinator, he remains actively involved in prescribed burns whenever he can, seeing it as an irreplaceable management tool. One of his favorite recent projects involved leading a three-generation prescribed burn in Coleman County - where his 4-year-old daughter even showed young family members how to operate the water sprayer! Thomas believes habitat stewardship is a continuous journey that yields huge long-term benefits, and he loves helping his team and community grow as trusted natural resource stewards.
