Sarah Smith

Coordinating Wildlife Biologist

  • Location: Clarendon, TX

  • Favorite Wildlife: Grasshopper Sparrows

  • Off the Clock: Camping and hiking state parks with her dog and relaxing at a local coffee shop.

Sarah provides technical assistance to Panhandle landowners tackling woody encroachment through the Panhandle Grassland Restoration Incentive Program (PGRIP). She recently designed a brush management and prescribed grazing plan on a sand sagebrush and shinnery oak property that balanced beneficial cover with open native grasslands. Sarah embraces the motto "what's good for the herd is good for the bird" and loves meeting passionate stewards across Texas. She wants landowners to know that conservation doesn't mean leaving land untouched - productive agriculture and rich wildlife habitat work best when built together.
