Kaitlyn Johnson
Coordinating Wildlife Biologist
Location: Snyder, TX
Favorite Perk: Exploring the rich diversity of Texas landscapes
Off the Clock: Deep in a good book or spending time with her dogs.
Serving the Southern Rolling Plains, Kaitlyn works directly with landowners on private land conservation strategies, with a heavy focus on brush management and native grass restoration. Passionate about community outreach, she recently organized a youth wildlife day camp alongside partners from Texas A&M AgriLife, TPWD, and the Texas Grazing Land Coalition to introduce local youth to conservation. The most rewarding part of her job is building relationships with community members, learning about their operations, and finding practical ways to benefit wildlife while hitting production goals. She reminds landowners that conservation is a long-term commitment and process rather than a single event, best accomplished by developing adaptive strategies over time.
